Khalid Belrhouzi - The Cloak (Al Burda)

The Burda
I transgressed the sunnah of the one who passed the night (in worship)
Until his feet complained of injury due to being swollen
And he tied and folded, an account of hunger, in his stomach
A stone beneath which is his delicate skin

Muhammad is the leader of both worlds and both creations (man and jin)
And both groups, Arab and non-Arabs

He is (Allah’s) most beloved, whose intercession is hoped for
For ever fear (and distress) that is going to come (on that day) of agony (and fear)

He called people towards Allah, so those who cling to him
Are clinging to a rope that will never snap

Prayers and peace upon the chosen messenger
Prayers and peace upon the Hashimite Prophet

He transcends the Ambiyaa, physically and in noble character
And the other Ambiyaa cannot come near him in knowledge, noble nature and kindness

They all obtained from Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wassalam)
(Like a) handful of water from the ocean or (a few) sips from a continuous rains

How noble are the physical qualities of Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wassalam, adorned with good character
(Who) was vested with beauty and disguised by pleasant temperament
(He) is like blooming flower in its freshness and the full moon in splendor
And the ocean in generosity and time its fearless courage
